He couldn't forget the past. No, it was impossible to forget what happened those moons ago. No matter how desperate the schemer was to become oblivious to the fact, it just wouldn't happen. And he knew that, too. He knew that there was no forgetting it.
They were gone.
Dead.
His siblings, the ones he had once loved with his heart and soul, they were gone. Vanished from the face of the world, they has left too soon. Oh dear Starclan, why was it that they took the young ones so soon? Fadedpaw felt like he was mentally suffocating. He felt lost and alone, choked in despair.
"Why?" he tried to yowl out, but his voice was merely a raspy whisper as he voiced his words to the sky. His teeth grinded together, those slate blue eyes closing as a small rush of wind tugged at his pelt. This couldn't be happening! Moons had passed since the death of Fadedpaw's brother and sister, yet the pain just wouldn't fade. It lingered, striking him like blades.
He had come here, away from his clan. There was no way the schemer wanted his clanmates to see him like this. The Shadowclanner had usually kept his feelings locked away; cutting himself away from the pity of others. Fadedpaw didn't want their pity. He didn't want the sorry's and the sadness, just to make him feel even smaller.
Wasn't it already bad enough?

The ShadowClan deputy was padding through the forest, the sunlight shining down on her fur. This cat padded along with it's head held high, prey filling the jaws. It was a she-cat, but not just any she-cat. It was Hauntsoul, haunted by her terrible past. She never showed the pain that came off of her in waves.
"No, forget it." She snorted, she tried to forget it, the things that haunted her nightmares. 'Haunt.. heh. Fits.' She thought bitterly, annoyed. The black deputy was scrapping at the earth, tearing it up, the prey falling from her jaws. Hauntsoul looked down at the earth, where the prey had fallen, and sighed. Just as she was about to pick the mice up, she heard something.
'Fadedpaw?' she thought, padding over to the apprentice. What is he doing out here? Did he tell anybody where he was going? Maybe, but she heard nothing about it. Nor had she seen him leave camp. "What are you doing out here?" she asked, a bit of suspicion in her tone. She trusted all of her clan mates... but what is he doing here?

He was trying to debate on rather there was really someone there or if it was just his mind playing horrible tricks; a mere illusion. The schemer refused to turn around, afraid of who he might see. The sound was familiar and he instantly knew who it was. Or, at least he deemed to know.
Hauntsoul.
This was great. Not only had the female deputy spotted him; but she was suspicious about him out here! Fadedpaw felt a cold chill strike down his back. His back was still face towards her, a frown plastered onto his face. It was moments until Fadedpaw could actually find the words to speak.
"Sitting. Having some alone time. Can't a cat have alone time without having someone always on his back?" he questioned in a choke, not turning to face her. No, Fadedpaw had no intentions to be rude or disrespectful to his deputy. Hauntedsoul was the last cat he'd want to show any form of disrespect.
He just didn't know why it was so hard for cats to trust him.

She waited, going through the options of what she would do. Would she have him punished? No, that was cruel. What harm could a young apprentice do? Nothing. She seemed content with herself, but she HAD to have him punished, he didn't tell anybody.. or at least she didn't see.
"Well, SORRY. But did you tell anybody where you were going?" She spat back, annoyance prickling at her pelt. 'Disrespect!' She frowned, what did this apprentice hold that let him do that to her? She sighed, and her tail twitched impatiently as she waited for his excuse.
What would it be this time, she dealt with this a lot, but she didn't expect it from Fadedpaw. She was his mentor, didn't she deserve to know where he was going, or even better, they had training today. He could have come, honestly.
((OOC: Can she be his mentor?))

Fadedpaw still didn't turn around. He didn't even answer her at first. Great Starclan, why were some of the cats in the forest so annoying? He had already told her why he came out here. What more did the Shadowclanner female need to know? He merely wanted alone time. Insted, he got the deputy scolding him.
"Because I know if I did" the maroon and brown tinted male voiced his words to the sky and Hauntsoul. "I'd have someone following me. Not much point to be alone if you have someone around"
Fadedpaw finally turned around. "Why do you wanna know?" he asked.

Random thoughts jumped across the black deputy's mind in the cool sunlight. For example, she wondered where she had buried her prey, or if it was still there. Would it be there? Probably not. 'Wasted effort' she hissed in her head, mentally kicking herself. Why go hunting if it was only going to be taken by another creature? 'They need to eat, too.' She reminded herself, still a bit annoyed.
"If you wanted to be alone, nobody would have followed, hun." she told him, sympathy in her voice. But it only lasted for a second, "We had hunting training today.." she trailed off, but her normal voice was back. Hauntsoul didn't tolerate forgetfulness, though when it happened to her, she punished herself.
"Well, go hunting before you come back. The clan could use some more fresh kill, alright?" Without waiting for a reply, she started to walk back to camp. Stopping, she picked up her fresh kill, thankfully still there. 'Thanks, papa' the dark deputy thought to StarClan, and she padded back into camp.

An angry expression was all that came. No words or anything. Just the angered expression and a flush of embarrassment over his face. She was wrong. They would have trailed along, he knew it! It was because cats these days were messed up and couldn't mind their own business. The schemer looked up to see her walking off.
Well, at least he was alone, once more.
Fadedpaw hoisted himself to his paws, sighing as he went the opposite direction. His paws brushed against the delicate grass. His slate colored eyes glaring at the pines above. Once they flickered down, he saw a raven hopping about. The male instantly dropped to a low crouch.
Fadedpaw pulled himself along the ground, making sure not to be too fast or too noisy. Eyes of slate kept their gaze fixed on the black colored bird; watching it's every movement. Once the apprentice had gotten close enough, he took a pounce.
The raven had sensed him and started to fly off. But the schemer was too smart for the idiotic bird. As soon as his paws hit the ground, he made it to where they landed so he could bounce up a bit; high enough to reach the bird. Dragging the raven to the ground, he spat out extra feathers, his face twisted with disgust.
Fadedpaw turned back around, making his way back to camp with the raven hanging limply in his jaws.
