'Burdock.. Burdock.. I know it's around here somewhere..' The small black and white tom padded along the border, his nose close to the ground for the scent of burdock. He had left without telling his mentor exactly where he was going, but he figured it didn't matter as long as he got back safely and with some herbs. 'Besides, when was the last time i got out of camp?' Roopaw hated being cooped in camp; it was almost as bad as having to have a warrior accompany him whenever he took a single paw step outside of camp.
'No one would attack me anyways. I'm a medicine cat for StarClan's sake!' Of course, he was a little arrogant, but wasn't it true? The tom sat down and stretched.
Rookpaw sighed, having nearly given up his search, when he realized he was right on ThunderClan's side of the border. "Oh, StarClan!" he quickly exclaimed, scrambling to his paws. His amber eyes searched ThunderClan's land but it appeared there wasn't a warrior in sight. 'Good thing too..' Just when he was about to continue looking for burdock, he heard a noise to his left.

A tiny Black she cat waked out in the open taking a stroll around in the nice weather. Figuring nothing was actually going to be up along the borders with ShadowClan, she went along not caring where her footsteps fell. She rounded around a thick tree and her Crystal blue eyes fell on a Shadowclan Apprentice Pondering on whether to actually CROSS Her clan's Border. Her foot fell on a twig and it snapped and the apprentice looked over at her. "What do you think you're about to do?" she growled fully appearing out of the shade of the tree, not looking too menacing seeing she was about the size of the Young Tom.

Rookpaw was relieved when he saw the ThunderClan cat seemed to be as old as he was. Another apprentice perhaps?, even though the she-cat seemed to have some authority in her mew. He passed her off as just being a bit snobbish. 'The good clan,' he thought disdainfully.
However, there was no point in starting an unnecessary fight. "Oh, I'm sorry," he mewed coolly and with a slight bow of his head, "I was just looking for some burdock when I stumbled over the boundary." The black and white tom quickly leapt to the ShadowClan side.
"What's an apprentice like you doing out here alone?" he asked innocently. Rookpaw didn't really take the time to fully examine the cat so he quickly made a judgment on her rank based on her size. He also figured she was just wandering about and meant no offense.

"Apprentice?!" She growled, How Could he say that based on Her own Size. He was the same size but she would most likey be able to beat him over and over in battle and in speed for thunderclan she was Especially fast. "Enjoying my territory. Now, Kit" sh said emphasizing The word Kit especially, "What seems so important that you need to cross the border?" She flicked Her tail in Annoyance, "AND Ill have you know, Im A full Fledged Warrior. So Dont make assumptions about me!" She was recently made a warrior, about a moon ago, But that ment nothing!

Rookpaw took a step backward and tilted his head to one side curiously. "A.. warrior? But you're so.." 'Small!' The tom narrowed his eyes slightly, as if maybe the she-cat would somehow appear bigger, but she remained almost as small as he was. He barely held back a mrrow of laugher and straightened up. "I'm not a kit!" he said defensively, "I'm a medicine cat apprentice for your information!" He puffed out his chest slightly and smiled.
"I was looking for burdock.." Rookpaw repeated with slight agitation. 'ThunderClanners think they are so bad, but I thought they were supposed to be some of the strongest cats in the forest! If this she-cat is a warrior, we have nothing to worry about.' The tom boredly licked a white forepaw and smiled. "So, what are you doing out here, ThunderClanner?"

"Medicine cat Apprentice, well that shouldn't be too much of a threat...." she grinned playfully teasing the Apprentice. She looked down at the small bit of burdock, "doesn't matter who you are to me.If my Clan is low on burdock, Which it is, I gotta take care of them first!" she said walking over to the burdock and started digging up the burdock roots. She had overheard Ivytail telling her apprentice that they were low. she pulled it out by her powerful fangs and turned her back on the border. Sh was about to leave but she gave a warning to the cat, "if my clan-mates catch you over the border, they wont be nice as i was. And they're all bigger than me." she said looking back and leaving her back open for attack as she flicked her tail goodbye.

"Hey! W-Wait! That's not fair!" Rookpaw jumped across the border and stood in front of the she-cat. "That's not fair," he repeated, "I was looking for that first!" He tried to stand taller, which only made him match the she-cat's size, and fluffed out his tail a bit. He was, in truth, angry, but the tom didn't dare attack the warrior without a solid good reason. Besides, the herbs didn't really belong to anyone seeing as they were right on the border; technically it wasn't really stealing.
However, Rookpaw had been looking all day for those herbs and he found it as in injustice for them to be so suddenly taken from him. Rookpaw tried to look tough, and his amber eyes glared at the ThunderClanner defiantly. 'But.. if she attacks I'll have no choice but to leave,' he thought dejectedly. 'Not that she would, but still.. If she is a warrior like she claims, what kind of a match will I be?'

She looked back at the apprentice and walked back sticking her nose so close to the border, she could smell the reek of Shadowclan cat infiltrating her nose. The Little black she cat looked into his amber eyes with her own piercing blue ones that looked into a cats soul, but, they didn't shine with anger, but with curiosity. She was on her side of the border, but she expected a shadowclan cat to attack her at a moments notice. she dropped a large root and nudged it at his feet with her tiny jet paws. " If you're lucky I think I scented some Burdock Root a little farther down that way," she said Flicking her tail In the Direction she mentioned. "I'm Not that mean that I will take it right out of your paws, so if you don't find it, here's some. I hope it helps." she sat down and dropped the remaining burdock behind her. while licking her front paw and drawing it over her ear.

Rookpaw exhaled quickly and sunk closer to the ground in relief. He expected the ThunderClanner to attack, but was obviously overjoyed the she-cat had instead handed over the plants peacefully. "Thank you!" he breathed as he delicately moved the root closer to him. The tom glanced the way she directed and nodded gratefully. 'Why hadn't I looked that way before?'
Rookpaw's dark amber eyes flickered from the burdock to the warrior uncertainly. She seemed so.. relaxed? Perhaps she was planning to attack him! '.. Nah, no one is that stupid to attack for nothing. It's not like-' The black and white tom suddenly let out a small yelp when he realized he was on ThunderClan's side of the border.
"I'm sorry," he muttered as he quickly scrambled back. The tom looked over his shoulder toward camp. "I, uh, should probably get going.. Thank you again." The apprentice smiled and bowed his head slightly. "What was your name?"
